WITH WAFAC-AFRICA NGO,HOPE IS STILL POSSIBLE...
In these periods of rain, Wafac-Africa initiates a public awareness campaign in order to inform the populations on the need for having adequate behaviors in the endemic zones. Thus, the villages of the departments below were identified.
Our actions
Since its launching, Wafac-Africa contributed to the nutritional assistance of the people affected by Buruli Ulcer and equipped the health centers with materials of communication in order to reinforce the awareness campaigns. Wheel chairs were offered to the patients handicapped by Buruli Ulcer. Health centers were also equipped with mattresses. Wafac-Africa has participated to WHO Annual Meeting on Buruli Ulcer to Geneva on March 2008. Wafac-Africa with the support of the Beninese government and WHO has also organized the African Summit on Neglected Tropical Diseases in Cotonou on March 30 to April 3, 2009.
